Questionnaire Manager - Overview

The main purpose of the Questionnaire Manager is to create and update questionnaires (within user-created sub-folders) on the Command Center's server i.e. in the Questionnaires Master Folder. The manager is accessed from the Design's Tools menu. It also allows you to upload/download images and 'Include' files to/from a questionnaire on the server.

When you launch the Questionnaire Manager (Tools>Questionnaire Manager in the Design application) it presents a navigation tree (in the left-hand pane) representing the Questionnaires Master Folder. The right-hand pane displays the questionnaires in the folder currently selected in the navigation tree. The screen-shot below shows the questionnaires within the currently selected "Demo" folder:

Each questionnaire in the list shows when it was last updated, the name of the QUE file used to update it, and the User name of person who performed the update.

Note: The commands in the File menu all refer to the questionnaires and folders on the Command Center server.

Description

New Folder	Creates a new folder at the currently selected location within the Questionnaires Master folder.
New Questionnaire	Creates a new questionnaire within the currently selected folder in Questionnaires Master folder. Note: The new questionnaire can be created blank (empty), or filled with the contents of a .QUE file which you are prompted to choose.
Download	Downloads the questionnaire currently selected in the list to a .QUE file which you are prompted to indicate. This command is identical to the Download button on the toolbar.
Update	Updates the questionnaire currently selected in the list with the contents of a .QUE file which you are prompted to indicate. This command is identical to the Update button on the toolbar.
Edit system error messages	Allows you to edit the default error messages that appear during an interview. You can do this for any selected language.
Close	Closes the Questionnaire Manager

Refresh refreshes the display if necessary.

File Transfer, opens the File Transfer window where you can view and control file transfer operations.

The purpose of this option is to ensure that nobody can make changes to the questionnaire on the server, other than the user who has downloaded the questionnaire to a QUE file. You are prompted to confirm this feature before it implements it. This ensures that the questionnaire on the server cannot undergo modifications by other users until the user unlocks it. See Lock/Unlock below.

Interface - right-click on questionnaire

When you right-click on a questionnaire in the list, the following menu pops up:

Description

New Questionnaire	Creates a new questionnaire in the Command Center within your chosen folder.
Rename	Allows you to rename the questionnaire.
Download	Downloads the questionnaire currently selected in the list to a .QUE file which you are prompted to indicate. This command is identical to the Download button on the toolbar.
Update	Updates the questionnaire currently selected in the list with the contents of a .QUE file which you are prompted to indicate. This command is identical to the Update button on the toolbar
Download INCLUDE file	For downloading an INCLUDE file or Scheme (Appearance Scheme) that has already been uploaded for use with the selected questionnaire.
Upload INCLUDE file	For uploading an INCLUDE file or Scheme (Appearance Configuration) for use with the currently selected questionnaire. You are prompted to select the INCLUDE file to be uploaded. Note: This command is also used for uploading Media files. For image files, which are a shared resource, see the Image Manager.
Delete INCLUDE file	For deleting an INCLUDE file or Scheme (Appearance Configuration) that has already been uploaded for use with the selected questionnaire.
Lock / Unlock	When you lock a questionnaire, it will only be accessible for modification by yourself. It can only be unlocked by yourself or by a user with Administrator rights.
View Associated projects	Displays a list of projects and modules to which the questionnaire is attached.
Delete	Deletes the questionnaire.

To create a new questionnaire in the Questionnaires Master Folder

Select the New Questionnaire command under the File menu.
In the dialog box that appears, enter the name of the questionnaire. Optionally, you can also navigate to the QUE file that you wish to immediately import into new questionnaire:
Click OK to confirm

To update a questionnaire in the Questionnaires Master Folder

Navigate to, and select the questionnaire which is to be updated.
Click on the Update button in toolbar
Navigate to, and select the .QUE which is to replace the contents of the questionnaire to be updated:
Click on the Open button to confirm.

To download a questionnaire in the Questionnaires Master Folder

Navigate to, and select the questionnaire which is to be downloaded:
Click on the Download button in toolbar
Navigate to, and select the .QUE which is to be replaced, or enter the name of the QUE file which is to be created:
Click on the Save button to confirm.

File Transfer (window)

The File Transfer window presents the status of file uploads/downloads to/from questionnaires on the server.; it opens automatically when you initiate a questionnaire update, or an upload or download. It can also be accessed from Tools>File Transfer in the Design main menu, or from View>File Transfer in the Questionnaire Manager menu.

Item	Description
File (menu)	File>Close closes the File Transfer window
View (menu)	File>Questionnaire Manager activates the Questionnaire Manager window
Clear	Removes all the items from the list
Open Folder	Opens (using Windows Explorer) the folder of the item currently selected in the list
Columns
Status	The status of the item: Completed: The file has been transferred Publishing: In the process of being transferred %: The amount currently transferred Pending: Awaiting transfer
Questionnaire	The questionnaire on the server to which the file is uploaded, or from which the file is to be downloaded
Folder	The folder to which the questionnaire's file is to be downloaded, or from which the file is to be uploaded
Upload/Download	The icons indicate whether the item concerns an upload or a download .
Filename	The name of the transferred file
Size	The size of the transferred file

A right-click with the mouse on any selected item(s) the list provides the following controls:

Item	Description
Cancel	Cancels the transfer - it can be restarted (see below)
Remove	Removes the item from the list
Restart	Restarts the transfer
Open Folder	Opens (using Windows Explorer) the folder of the item currently selected in the list
