Project Settings

The Project Settings are the basic registry of the project. They consist of its name, description (free text), the SQL server on which its data is to be stored, the attached questionnaire, the types of collection modules to be used, and which telephony modules (if applicable) are required.

All projects must have a (Default) questionnaire selected; this is the means by which the variables in the project's database are established. The questionnaire is also used by the Field management tools (variables, choices, labels etc.) to generate their various screens, and to allow filters to be generated and parsed.

Note: The project's Default questionnaire will also be used by any collection module which does not have its own questionnaire specified. See Collection Modules.

The Command Center provides four types of collection: CATI, CAWI, Acuity4 Survey and CAPI. You must indicate which type(s) of collection you will be using so that you can then install and configure the required collection modules.

Note: No project can collect data unless at least one collection module is attached.

If your project requires services of a Voxco telephony server, telephony modules are also required. The Pronto module type enables you to install and configure Predictive, Non-Predictive, Preview and Hybrid telephony modules. The Manual Dialer (TCPA Connect ) module enables you to install a Manual Dialing module.

In the example below, the CATI and Pronto sections are showing in the left-hand pane because these module types are checked in the right-hand pane.

Description

Project Name

The name of the project as will appear in the Navigation Tree. Spaces, hyphens and underbar characters are allowed.

Description

A free text description of the project (for information only).

SQL Server

The SQL server on which the project data will be stored.

Default Questionnaire

The questionnaire to be used to define the questions/variables in the database. This questionnaire will be used by any of the project's collection modules which do not have their own questionnaires specified.

Module Types

The types of collection modules to be used (CATI, CAWI, CAPI, A4Survey) and whether Pronto modules or Manual Dialer modules are required i.e. Predictive dialing, ACD etc.

Note: The choices made here control the types presented in the Project>Modules menu.

Container Id

For information only: The internal id. no. of the project.

Database project Id

For information only: The internal id. no. of the database.
