Navigation Bar - Top/Bottom

If you want to modify any one of the seven properties, select the property from the drop-down menu and change the corresponding attributes as described below.

Layout

The Layout properties allow you to position and select (i.e., default or images) the type of buttons in the top/bottom navigation bar. Select an attribute and modify it as described below.

Back

Moves to the previous page.

Quit

Quit button that takes the respondent to the questionnaire's INT question where a terminate button may be found.

Note: If you are not using a terminate button (see below), the page will contain a previous, quit and next button. The respondent will have to click the next button to exit the survey.

Next

 Moves to the next page.

Clear

Clears the screen.

Note: You cannot assign an image for the clear button from the image gallery.

INT
Terminate

Terminates the survey. This button appears only on the question designated as the 'Completion' question and the INT question.

Note: This button is optional; its use is recommended to avoid respondent confusion when ending the survey (see Quit button, above).

Text

In the Button Type attribute, if you have chosen to use the default buttons you can change the text inside the buttons. Enter the desired text under the respective button in the attributes. If you have chosen Images from the drop-down menu, you will not be able to enter any text.

Note: INT is the terminate button.

Font

You can change the font, size and color of the default buttons by selecting from the drop-down menus. You can also bold, italicize or underline the text of the buttons by clicking the respective button.

Color

The color of the button's border (if applicable), the button itself (background) and the font can be changed with this property. Select the desired color from the drop-down menu. If a color you wish does not appear, go to the bottom of the list and select "Custom...". This opens the color palette where you can create a color.

Border

You can insert a border around all of the navigation buttons using this property; default is no border. Select an attribute and modify it as described in the table below.

Width

Enter the desired width for the border (in pixels).

Style

Select a style (e.g., double lines) from the drop-down menu.

Color

Select the desired color from the drop-down menu. If a color you wish does not appear, go to the bottom of the list and select "Custom...". This opens the color palette where you can create a color.

Image

To select images as navigation buttons, click in the box below the desired button. The image browser opens, select an image and click the OK button. For more details regarding image browser, see Image Browser.

Note: For this property to function, you must have selected the Images in the attribute Button Type of the Layout Property, see Button Type.

Hints

You can change the text which pops up when the cursor is run over a navigation button. In the box below the respective button, type the desired text.
