For both a simple skip and a complex one, a skip destination may take one of two forms:
Destination type |
Example |
Relative: +nnn |
+1 (skip the current question) |
Absolute (alias) |
Q16A |
These forms are available to select in the Skip To and Else To floating menu. The relative form is identified with the + sign.
The submenu of each form comprises a list of the project's questions from which the destination question can be selected.
Important:
If the destination question does not yet exist it will be displayed in red and the skip will be ignored until the situation is corrected.
If you branch beyond the last question, the interview is terminated. It is however recommended that you use END to terminate an interview properly.
You cannot use the relative form to go backwards in a questionnaire.
The complex skip also accepts the form * which means skip to next question in any case (see Computed Questions).
