A roster is a synonym for a loop. It is a block of consecutive questions that may be repeated up to a specified number of times.
A common use of a simple roster is for a set of questions that has to be put to each member of the household. The system collects separate data for each iteration of the loop; each iteration, and the data collected in it, is often referred to as a row of the roster.
The maximum number of rows for a roster is specified by the questionnaire designer. By default, the questionnaire will loop back and repeat the questions for this maximum number of rows. The questionnaire logic, nevertheless, can be designed to permit exiting a roster before the maximum number of rows has been reached i.e. when the appropriate number of rows of questions has been collected.
