This tool, accessed from the CAPI Settings or through the Strata/Quotas definition page, is used to allocate quotas (target number of completes) to interviewers, and to review the corresponding state of progress of each interviewer. Interviewer quotas are linked to the strata/quotas defined for the project as a whole.
More specifically, the Interviewer Quotas table serves to:
Control the status of each stratum for each interviewer for the current project . If an interviewer's Status is "closed" no cases will be downloaded.
Set quotas on the number of completed cases that an interviewer is to achieve for the current project. Not only are the quotas specific to each interviewer, but they apply to any selected project stratum.
Monitor the state of progress in each stratum for each interviewer.
You can control the display to be ordered by stratum or by interviewer; an example of each is shown below:
The table lists every interviewer attached to the project. For each interviewer there is a row for every stratum defined in the project. You can set the status of each interviewer/stratum to "Open" or "Closed", and optionally set a "Quota". All the other columns are for information only.
Note: This table is not necessarily updated in real-time. Updates take place only when laptops or mobile devices are connected to the Internet. For a laptop, the interviewer must invoke the 'Synchronize' command in the CAPI Client application; for CAPI-Mobile 'automatic synchronization' must be active.

Description |
Export to CSV |
The purpose of this feature is to facilitate external management of large numbers of interviewer quotas. It creates a CSV file with one line per interviewer containing the interviewer login name followed by the quota for each stratum. The first line is a header row which identifies the strata. Once the file has been created, it can be edited externally and then imported back again (see 'Import from CSV' below) Example (2 strata, 3 interviewers): Interviewer, REGIO=1,REGIO=2 Interv1, 0, 5 Interv2, 2, 4 Interv3, 2, 7 |
|
Import from CSV |
This command imports a CSV file containing quotas for each interviewer and stratum in the project. The format for the file is the same as the one created when using 'Export to CSV' (see above) but the first line (header row) is not necessary and will be ignored. The following screen-shot is self-explanatory: |
|
Copy from Interviewer... |
Enables you to apply the quotas definition of a selected interviewer to one or more other interviewers. |
|
Strata and Quotas definition |

|
Export to Excel |

The 'Quotas Enforcement Rule' drop-down list enables your to define the behaviour of the interviewing module when accessing a case belonging to a closed stratum. The options are:
Allow interviews on closed strata
Allow interviews on closed strata with a warning
Block access to cases in closed strata
